It’s also slated to be shot across the seven wonders of the world. And when Jannat girl Sonal Chauhan signed the film, it created a buzz, too.

Sonal Chauhan — the model-turned-actress who made her debut in Bollywood with Jannat — is on cloud nine these days.

The actress has been signed on by veteran painter MF Hussain’s son Owais Hussain for his directorial debut tentatively titled Punjab 69. The film — a fairy tale of sorts set in modern times — has Anurag Sinha of Black and White fame playing Sonal’s love interest, revealed an insider.

A source said, “Sonal is very excited about this film. She found Owais very creative and was looking forward to working with him ever since she read the script.”

We didn’t know if Abhishek Dutta would make it to his show, after he was bashed up in an incident of road rage on Saturday morning. But the designer did turn up, with his son in tow, and boy, did he have an ace up his sleeve!

People may be touting Sonal Chauhan to be a one film wonder, but the actress is harping a ‘wait-and-watch’ mantra these days.

The girl who is maintaining a low profile is excited about the ace she has up her sleeve. The Jannat heroine is apparently doing a flick with John Abraham. Yet to be titled, this venture, we hear is an out-and-out action flick and that is what Sonal is so ‘kicked’ about! “I didn’t want to sign on films just for the sake of signing some. The wait at last seems worth it,” she said. The girl does think she is on the right ‘beat’, and for her sake, we hope so, too.

‘Jannat’ girl Sonal Chauhan is not too lucky when it comes to love. We heard all those horrible stories of her having got her boyfriend Sahil Zaroo arrested because he slapped her, and all that.

But that hasn’t stopped the beautiful actress from looking for love. When we met up with her recently, she boldly admitted that she was looking for pyar in spite of the the trouble it may have brought her in the past.

“What occurred in the past is best left behind. I suffered enough mental agony but I have moved on. I’m young and single, and of course looking for love,” she said.
