Among the many newcomers who made a lasting impression this year (2008) is the tall and sexy actress Sonal Chauhan. The babe debuted opposite Emraan Hashmi in Mukesh Bhatt’s Jannat and the movie even went on to become a Superhit, yet Sonal hasn’t been seen or heard of much since then.

Now, all Sonal fans would get to see their favorite actress in a brand new avatar. Sonal would be seen sharing the stage and performing alongside internationally acclaimed rockstar Bryan Adams at a gala event in January next year.

Seeing blacks and whites at red carpet events gets a little boring, so I was pleased to see Sonal (of Jannat fame) in a bit of colour. Loving the sculpted twist on the upper half of the dress. I just have a little problem digesting the long white fabric in the front. What do you think?

Emraan Hashmi was seen flaunting an interesting white tee at a special event. His newest co-star Sonal Chauhan celebrated her birthday and, as expected, Emraan and the Bhatts were invited. Emraan was seen explaining the ‘IFL’ on his shirt to anyone who’d listen. Apparently, it was short for Indian Fixed League, in sync with his role of a match-fixer in Jannat. The film was released on the same day as Sonal’s birthday for an economical reason.

Sonal was in a radio station in Mumbai, promoting her film and interacting with the audiences. She was having a great time there as she got a positive response from one-and-all. However, Sonal had to wrap up early as she had a prior commitment, which needed her to be in Hyderabad. As she reached the Mumbai airport, the lady was confronted by her boyfriend. The two seemed to have an argument there and in a fit of rage Sahil slapped Sonal.

Model Sonal Chauhan’s acting career has kick-started in a big way.

Sonal Chauhan seems to have become the blue-eyed girl of the Bhatts. First, she was considered a suitable replacement to Bipasha Basu in the sequel of Raaz . Now, Sonal has bagged another film from the Bhatt camp.

It is no secret that Mahesh Bhatt was disappointed when he couldn’t get Bipasha for ‘Raaz 2’. Without ruminating over the loss, Bhatt went ahead and roped in Sonal, who is making a transition from ramps to tinsel town.

The cast of the film turned out in full force. Director Rohit Shetty was one of the earliest to arrive. Ajay Devgan was followed a little later by wife Kajol and Tanishaa. Tusshar Kapoor flew in from South Africa especially for the party while Celina Jaitley who came in directly from the airport, received a lot of compliments for her lovely pink dress. Shreyas Talpade was seen mingling with everyone while Anjana Sukhani. Tulip Joshi, Aushima Sahani, Sonal Chauhan all made a statement in black!

Yes, exactly this is what happened with Sonal Chouhan, the petite ‘Jannat’ fame bimbette. A fan was so impressed with her that he sent her a bouquet with more than 1000 flowers to weigh her with it. “Sonal first got scared thinking she is been stalked,” informs a source close to the actor. “But then she was pleasantly surprised as she realized that it wasn’t the case,” further adds the source.

The two Khans that make actress Sonal Chauhan go weak in the knees is Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Sonal admits that when it comes to the looks department nobody can beat Sallu at it. “Salman Khan is the best looking man in the film industry. There’s something special about him. I love the rawness that he carries with himself.” But when it comes to acting talent and handling a career intelligently, Sonal feels Aamir Khan is an ace. “Aamir Khan is the most talented actor in the film industry. Coupled with hardwork and luck, Aamir has reached great heights. He is someone aspiring actors can look upto. He is also handled his career with perfect acumen.”

Never before was so much young blood pumped into the tinsel town as in year 2008.

Sonal Chauhan was the new find of Vishesh Films this year. The banner, known for launching new faces, gave ample footage to Sonal in their hit movie Jannat , even though Sonal did not actually have a true histrionic moment in the film to win over the critics.
