This PYT, on her own admission says that, the term ‘sexy’, according to her, means, having a good conversation, breakfast in bed and also the smell of a man. She also added that, the thing that turns her on in a man is intelligence, good looks, loyalty and sincerity.

I guess the last time I met Sonal Chauhan was at her apartment in Andheri where she made some lovely green tea for me. I recall standing next to her as she entered her open kitchen to prepare the chai. Sonal was looking lean, luscious and rosy cheeked in her skinny denims and a white top and this was nearly a year ago. Her face seemed confused, her eyes looking out for something, her ears listening out to every acting offer coming her way and her hands sometimes resting on her sofa and sometimes crossed and sometimes fidgety. All in one, Sonal was still a question mark in the industry. Enter 2011 and she is just about to wrap up her second film as an actress, titled Bbuddah – Hoga Tera Baap directed by Puri Jagannadh starring Amitabh Bachchan. And what a spooky twist of fate that as I was interviewing Sonal about Bbuddah and talking about Mr. Bachchan, she was right there in front of Jalsa, Big B’s residence in Juhu. Chauhan was talking from her car and I could feel that stretched smile of hers when I last saw her. An insider from our film industry told me emphatically that I was going to ‘just love’ Sonal Chauhan and I did. And even though it’s a year since I’ve met her, she was delightful on the other end of the receiver – bubbly and chatty when it came to talking about the majority of subjects ranging from her second film to the Bachchan family and her uprightness for not taking on films just to earn money. Her patience and perseverance has resulted in what many just keep dreaming – a film with the great Amitabh Bachchan. Come on Sonal, stop dreaming now! “I was Puri Jagannadh first choice”

I’ve met Puri Jagannadh before in Hyderabad, etc. but I was his first choice for this role in Bbuddah. He wanted me for the film but even before he wanted me, I really wanted to work with him and it’s finally happening. I got a call from his office saying that Puri sir wanted to send across the script to me and he wanted to talk about the film. The rest is history.

“I am playing a college going girl who has a mind of her own”

I cannot reveal anything about my character as of now but I can say this much that I am playing a college going girl who has a mind of her own and is a fashion conscious woman.

“I am lucky to be doing my second film with Mr. Bachchan and who wouldn’t be?”

You are right! There was a time when people thought that I was wasting my time after Jannat by not doing any film. But today when I look at it, I think I made the right choice by not doing certain films just to earn money. Then again, I am lucky to be doing my second film with Mr. Bachchan and who wouldn’t be? I think the wait was worth the wait!

“Every time I want to ask Mr. Bachchan something, I am short of words”

Every time I see Mr Bachchan, I tend to go speechless. I’ve never imagined to be like that facing any man. Normally I am not someone who gets nervous amongst men and people in general. But every time I want to ask him something and he comes in front of me, I am dumb struck and wordless.

“I didn’t interact much with Abhishek as he was too busy but what a gentleman he is!”

Both Abhishek and Aishwarya came for the mahurat of Bbuddah. Of course, Abhishek couldn’t stay for too long as he had to leave for a shoot. I didn’t interact much with Abhishek as he was too busy but what a gentleman he is! He came for the mahurat on time and graced the occasion of his AB Corp film. On the other hand, Aishwarya Rai was there for almost an hour and a half. She was a thorough professional who stood by Abhishek during the mahurat.

“I learnt something from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the day of the mahurat”

Every day there are new things I am learning. So when Aishwarya came and started to chat with us, she spoke briefly about her films: Raavan and Jodhaa Akbar and was telling us that there were times when it was difficult to even shoot but in spite of that, they shot both the films in severe weather conditions sometimes. It was nice to see someone so committed and passionate about their work.

“Mr Bachchan is definitely going to give all the younger heroes a run for their money”

Yes, Bbuddah is going to redefine Mr. Bachchan. He has been playing many different roles in films but Bbuddah is way different from what he has done before. The audiences are going to love it. In fact, we haven’t seen Mr. Bachchan like this ever before on the big screen and he is definitely going to give all the younger heroes a run for their money and he is looking so good that it’s unbelievable. He is looking hot and handsome.

Jannat actress Sonal Chauhan disappeared after her debut flick with the Bhatts. Though she has shot for M F Husain’s son Owais’ movie, it is stuck. After waiting for long, she has finally got a break in Puri Jagannath’s Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap. She has a three-film deal with producers Studio 18. Better late than never.

Actor Sonal Chauhan cannot stop thanking her stars!

The Jannat girl has bagged her dream role with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in Buddah Hoga Tera Baap.

A source revealed that actor Kangana Ranaut was initially being considered for this role. However, when director Puri Jagannath met Chauhan, he was convinced that he had found his lead.

Word has it that fans are eagerly awating to see the hit jodi back on screen after a long gap.

And as shooting commenced, Chauhan’s dream role just got better! The pretty actor has been vocal about her admiration for the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai and her radiant beauty.

Recently, Chauhan had a chance to meet her idol at an event and couldn’t stop gushing about the impression Ash made on her.

Chauhan, who is now working with AB in the film, got an opportunity to meet Ash again, on the first day of the shoot, where she was present along with Abhishek.

“I had always heard that the Bachchans were the most gracious family in the industry and now I have seen it for myself,” she gushes.

Prominent Telugu film producer and director Puri Jagannath, will start his film Budda (old man) sometime next week.

The director, who has made about 20 films in a career spanning a decade, including the Telugu version of Pokkiri, had earlier directed a Hindi film Shart with Tusshar Kapoor in the lead. But now he is all set to direct Amitabh Bachchan in this action-packed drama.

Bachchan will play an aging gangster in the film while Sonu Sood will play a cop. The film is based on the conflict between the two. Hema Malini has been roped in to play Bachchan’s wife and Sood’s mother, while Sonal Chauhan, of Jannat fame, will play his romantic interest. The film will be shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad, and is scheduled to get over in three months. Budda will be produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and AB Corp. This will be AB Corp’s next film after Paa.

We all know how important rehearsals are to an actor who wants to give that dream performance.

Sonal Chauhan went a step further when it came to performing at a recent show alongside Akshay Kumar. While putting in the required efforts during a technical rehearsal, Sonal injured her foot very badly. So much so that the pain was quite unbearable. But this didn’t deter her commitment.

Sonal not only finished rehearsals but on the next day, reached the venue to give the final performance. Sporting a bandage on her foot and a calm yet excited look on her face, Sonal danced alongside Akki and was applauded.
